The American Karate Alpha Squad is a reservation only, 4-week martial arts training experience for kids ages 7–14. The group of new students train together across four Sundays and advance through four levels of development: Respect, Focus, Resilience, and Power.
New students only.

Kids won’t just show up and leave with a flyer.  They’ll enter a structured team experience, build real momentum, and complete something they can feel proud of. For parents, that means a program that feels organized, purposeful, and worth the commitment. For kids, it means being part of something that feels exciting, challenging, and earned.

Each week builds real beginner martial arts skills while helping students grow in confidence, self-control, and mental toughness. On the final Sunday, students complete the Alpha Test — a guided end-of-program challenge that gives families the chance to see how far their child has come.

4 levels of Alpha Squad

Each week, students advance through a new level of training.

Week 1 — Respect

Students begin by learning how martial artists carry themselves — how to listen, respond, follow instruction, and show control.

FOCUS AREAS: 
Dojo etiquette, stance, posture, first punches, self-control

Week 2 — Focus

Students build coordination, attention, and precision through kicking, blocking, and movement drills.

FOCUS AREAS: 
Balance, targeting, technique, attention, controlled movement

Week 3 — Resilience

Students learn how to stay steady when training gets more challenging — pushing through, staying composed, and continuing with confidence.

FOCUS AREAS: 
Pad work, partner drills, effort under pressure, perseverance, composure

Week 4 — Power

Students bring everything together with energy, control, and confidence as they complete the final stage of training.

FOCUS AREAS: 
Skill combinations, performance drills, challenge stations, finishing strong

The Alpha Test

On the final Sunday, students complete the Alpha Test — the culminating challenge of the program. Families are invited to watch as students move through guided skill stations that reflect what they’ve learned throughout Alpha Squad. It’s a fun, high-energy moment that gives each child the chance to finish strong and be recognized for their progress.
